We remain open for phone and video and urgent in-person consultations.
COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) IMPACT ON ENT SURGERY SERVICES
Yesterday, ASOHNS (The national ENT body) recommended all non-urgent ENT consultations and surgery be delayed until the current COVID-19 crisis has settled.
ENT Clinics remains committed to providing a service for our patients, GPs and the broader community.
We are still able to provide support to GP’s requiring advice and to consult with patients via phone/video. We will also be providing urgent in-person consultations on a case-by-case basis.
Our phones will remain open during normal business hours for any enquiries.
To facilitate a patient having a consultation with our ENT Surgeons:
- Please ensure you have a referral
- Please call ENT Clinics Brisbane and make an appointment for a phone consultation on (07) 3831 1448
- Our doctors will triage referrals for phone consultations/ in-person/ delayed appointments
- We will remain available for urgent consultations (suspected malignancy, patients in pain etc)
We appreciate the gravity of the decision and will endeavour to ensure that impacts on GP workloads and patient care is minimised wherever possible This decision was based on evidence from both Wuhan and the UK that ENT procedures including in office nasendoscopy examinations carry an increased risk of transmission to the treating surgeon. Therefore, non-urgent procedures are to be delayed to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
We thank you for your understanding.
