Dr Thomas Slaughter
BSc (Gen), MBBS, FRACS (Oto - HNS)

Dr Thomas Slaughter is an ear, nose and throat surgeon with advanced training in head and neck surgery. He has a particular interest in head and neck oncology, thyroid surgery, rhinology and paediatric ENT.

Dr Slaughter graduated from the University of Queensland in Medicine in 2006 and moved to Sydney to complete his training as an ENT surgeon with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2014. He completed his surgical training at major ENT units including St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and Royal North Shore; with significant paediatric ENT experience at Westmead Children’s and Sydney Children’s Hospitals.

Dr Slaughter returned to Brisbane in 2015 to complete further advanced fellowship training as the head and neck fellow at the Princess Alexandria Hospital.

Dr Slaughter currently holds public appointments at the Royal Brisbane where he is also involved in registrar training. He operates privately at Brisbane Private, St Andrews and Wesley Hospitals.

Dr Slaughter is involved in the Head and Neck Cancer Multidisciplinary Unit at the Royal Brisbane Hospital. He is also currently undertaking further training in Robotic Surgery for Head and Neck Cancer.

Given the breadth of his training, Dr Slaughter enjoys all aspects of ENT surgery and looks forward to helping general practitioners and other specialists in caring for their patients. He strongly believes in approachability and communication with his patients and is absolutely committed to ensuring they are well informed and comfortable with any medical treatment and procedures.

Dr Slaughter shares a practice with Dr Ryan Sommerville at the ENT Clinics Brisbane at Watkins Medical Centre on Wickham Tce. He also consults at North Lakes, Nundah and Mt Ommaney.

We remain open for phone and video and urgent in-person consultations.

COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS) IMPACT ON ENT SURGERY SERVICES

ASOHNS (The national ENT body) currently recommends all non-urgent ENT consultations and surgery be delayed until the current COVID-19 crisis has settled.

ENT Clinics remains committed to providing a service for our patients, GPs and the broader community.

We are still able to provide support to GP’s requiring advice and to consult with patients via phone/video. We will also be providing urgent in-person consultations on a case-by-case basis.
